AEW has really exposed him.

In NJPW he had his role clearly defined for him by Gedo and his opponents.

In AEW, left to his own devices, he's had nothing but bad matches, horrible angles and promos. Looks like a complete joke.

The only person I can compare him to is Kurt Angle, all time great in the WWE. But away from their agents and writers he wrestled like a bad indie wrestler in TNA and even worse in Japan.
