At best they started watching Japanese wrestling because of the bullet club. They have little knowledge of any wrestling before the 2000s and even then most of it is second hand knowledge prone to revisionism and misinformation.
They get triggered when you criticize AEW for not doing a video package explaining who Satoshi Kojima is, but they've probably never seen his work outside of 8 man tags.
