That title was actually kino. It was the original NWA world heavyweight belt owned by Thesz that he loaned to the promotion (unfortunately he took it back because he hated 'gimmick' wrestlers like Vader) and it was simply called the Pro-Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship. Implying the champ was the heavyweight champion of ALL pro-wrestling.

Originally Vader wore a full black mask over his face underneath his demon mask. But after his first run in WCW, the Japanese wrestling company that created the costume/masks/Vader gimmick got pissy that Vader and WCW wasn't paying them kickbacks to let Vader use said gimmick full time in the US.

Vader switched to the strap mask as a result when he returned to WCW full time in 1992 and was also the reason the demon mask went away.

Yeah; Vader had to change his entire look (and change his name to just Vader) when WCW signed him to wrestle exclusively for them in the US. Though, IIRC they eventually had a deal in place where they were allowed to use the big metal black mask for PPVs before dropping it entirely around the time Hogan came along.

Vader's actually pretty cute, in a sort of blue collar type way, as "Baby Bull".

Vader lost the title to Goldberg in a cage match after dominating and then kicking out of 2 jackhammers, they both climbed to the top of the cage and Goldberg threw Vader off the top and escaped for the big gold strap.

One of my memories is him teaming up with Hulk for Wargames. They ran a vignette with Vader joining the team and getting ready which was awesome. However, Vader was gone and they had text running below the vignette saying that due to events beyond WCW's control, Vader was replaced by Luger.
