Wouldn't being taller be disadvantageous if you are having to strictly stick into a weight class? In regular life nothing is stopping a guy who is 6'2 from weighing 250lbs and being a hoss but in regulated weight classes it seems like someone who is 5'10 and 170lbs would have more muscle proportionally than someone taller in the same weight.
