KENTA has always seemed pretty reasonable about it all. WWE had some fucked up philosophies that didn't gel with him but he also really struggled to find his identity in the ring there. It felt like he figured it out later on but it was already too late by that point. And his shoulder surgery always looked fucked. He looks really good physically lately so I'm happy for him.

I remember that springboard dropkick spot, it was i think his first nxt match ever or one of the first, knocked himself silly and finished was abrupt with his leg lariat finisher. Was never the same since. And that was even before his shoulder injury which made it all ogre.

KENTA was one of those guys who just wasn't meant for WWE. His career was built on him being a stiff striker. Probably never thigh slapped a kick in his life. But you can't work that style in the E. His character work wouldn't translate to an English audience. His physique wasn't awful but he's a smaller guy (5'8ish) with not much muscle definition. I can't see how he ever would've gotten over in America.
