What exactly has WWE done recently that’s so impressive except hotshot some returns and increase their workrate? What amazing angles are people talking about? What promos have built a money match? Because I can tell you firmly that AEW are the ones doing all of the above and better.

The only people who think WWE have the momentum are people who’ve consumed WWE slop for decades without stopping. The only difference now is they’re eating solid bricks of shit instead of soupy diarrhea. They will gladly consume whatever Vince or Gaytch give them with happy brown smiles because WWE is their life and will do anything to defend and appreciate it no matter how many corn kernels are between their teeth.

WWE is hot as fuck because HHH took over and morale is mooning. AEW has a world of issues between AEW originals, ex WWE guys coming in and taking over top spots, and egos. On top of that there's plenty of individuals feeling the FOMO now that HHH is in charge and they could've had their spot back under him. Guys like Keith Lee are gonna be stuck in mid/low upper card hell for their tenure at AEW.

Booking has been better, wrestling matches have been better. Feels more creative and less inconsistent. AEW feels like WCW right before everything went to shit and has no momentum.

How can you guys be arguing about this at a time when wrestling has such boring shows and shit talent? It's an 'industry' that is constantly declining because there is no real pressure for them to be better. And the fans of wrestling these days think that boring midgets with no charisma flipping around/outside a ring is truly the way it should be, forget about the muscle guys who actually had testosterone and told stories and put on heavy hitting matches. Because WWE fans are stupid. AEW is undoubtedly putting out a better product than WWE right now but console war bullshit won't allow them to acknowledge that other wrestling can be good.

They did it with WCW.
They did it with TNA.
They're doing it with AEW.

AEW isn't perfect but the worst episode of Dynamite is just as good as the best episode of RAW in the last five years.

The same fans that used to hate HHH for being an egomaniac that buried everyone now pretends like he's a genius and is such a wholesome person. He might make WWE better at some point but it hasn't happened yet. WWE fans are just being hypocrites and Cummings in their pants about people getting rehired and debuting despite accusing AEW of doing nothing but debuts for attention.

A lot of it is momentum. WWE has been around a long time. If a billionaire used his money to start up a promotion that consisted of the exact same product in 2019 I think it's be about as successful as Black & Gold NXT.

Don't get me wrong, in 2022 a wrestling show getting 700,000 viewers a week on basic cable is perfectly sustainable. Its just that half the WWE audience is only there because they've been watching since the 80s or 90s.

This. The over 50 demo is WWE's most sustainable audience. It literally hasn't moved since 2018, while the 18-49 has dropped 70%, but this isn't 100% on WWE either but on TV not being very popular any more.
