>>6970925>Other networks offering deals for AEW will matter.Other networks don't care about wrestling and if they do, they want WWE for the brand value and the, like it or not, more corporate/family friendly image.
The NBC/Universal network is all-in on WWE
Disney is not going to give them a spot on ESPN over real sports, but could *maybe* offer a streaming spot on ESPN+
Fox is still with WWE for now and there's no way AEW gets the same ratings as Smackdown and Fox knows it
CBS/Viacom will never give them a spot on CBS so that leaves their cable channels like the Paramount Network and PopTV aka TNA's sloppy seconds.
And then that leaves streaming options:
Amazon just spent $1 billion on NFL and is still just dabbling in live sports
Netflix has never done live sports and is cutting back on where it spends money
DAZN has been struggling for years with debt
Cable is dying but its still more financially stable than streaming
WWE is safe because its tied up with networks NBC and Fox
AEW got very very lucky they got a show on the top of the cable mountain but that mountain is shrinking
No one else wants AEW and even if they did, it would be a step back fro TBS/TNT in terms of visibility and/or they couldn't offer as much money as WBD
WBD has all the leverage
