Triple H was the Roman Reigns of his time. He could never get over by himself, he was the least over member of DX and only got over eventually because Vince was forcing him down everyones throats.

Once he ditched dx and became more serious he was unironically over. His stuff in the late 2000s and then the foley program was kino. the only problem was how cringey a lot of the mcmahon-helmsley stuff was.

HHH got over because Mick Foley got him over with deathmatch wrestling. He was midcard over as the racist leader of DX but Cactus Jack got him main event over. He was already world champion but he proved what he was willing to do to stay champ and won over the crowd.

That Raw after WM14 was crazy. I got into WCW after he got hurt but I kept seeing the Syxx Ball shirts so I wanted to see him. Then he shows up on Raw and legitimizes DX. If not for guys like Austin and the Rock, HHH would've been a great choice for world champion. But they were much bigger and deserving of the world and IC level belts, leaving him with the Euro. Even when he did finally get the IC, he got hurt and went away for almost a year.
