People forgot Meltz tried becoming an MMA journalist so there's a lot of stuff from the mid 2000s and early 2010s that he just didn't review.

After he failed at that we're all of a sudden experiencing an in ring revolution, even though it's the same style just done way worse as dragon gate was doing 15 years ago.

I'm saying right here and now that SOME of his matches are good, and SOME of his matches suck.
Wednesday sucked. It was boring. It lacked heart. You knew who was going to win, and yet the match was 10 mins too long, with a bunch of other guys running around getting in the way of everything, and the finish was overbooked to hell.
Have him fight someone 1v1 that does a different style that meshes well. WALTER, Styles, hell even Roman.
I would pay to see Ospreay vs Roman in a match.

Grow up, get a clue, gain some self-respect, and develop personal tastes instead getting your opinions of guys solely from what others think of them.
And even then, don't just call someone a contrarian just because they happen hold an opinion that is contrary to your own.

here's the thing. you take any of those "5-star matches" of ospreays and compare them with punk's. watch them back to back. ospreay's will seem better. even more so if you show them back-to-back to someone with zero clue about wrestling. they'll ask, why does anyone care about that clearly unathletic guy punk compared to this super-athletic hyper-dextrous guy ospreay?

if you're an ex-drone punk-mark who watched him back in the day you'll be butthurt by this.

otherwise you'll wonder why the fuck anyone cares about punk. you'll think dave was generous with punk, giving him those stars. and he was, or rather there was a lower standard back then, and an even lower standard for wwe compared with other promotions.

now if you are deeply insightful, you'll realise that people are happy to eat up utter shit like it's the greatest thing ever, if it's advertised well and there's no alternatives easily available or well known. which is how marketing in general works. and wrestling promos are marketing.

I am so desperate to watch Ospreay vs Punk, and see Punk flounder to come up wiht an imaginative counter to a basic armbar while Will just does some effortless flips to counter all of Punks moves. Then they get out of the opening salvo and Punk has to contol the match for the next 3 minutes before Ospreay even wakes up, and at his point Phil starts to understand how outclassed he actually is
