>>7006828It’s not happening without another cultural shift similar to the one that took place in the mid to late 00s as the first effects of nerds ruling the world were felt.
Wrestling was only popular in tue late 90s-early 00s because it fit in perfectly with counter cultural trashcore tv and entertainment at the time. It fit in an era of trivial redneck violence and jock humor/sexuality. It was Jerry Springer except you actually got to see the two people arguing go at it. It was a case of right thing at the right place at the right time.
Of course when the era shifted post 9/11, it began to fall in popularity in kind. Remember the VAST majority of normies don’t engage in anything unless they know others are already talking about it. Many watched for no other reason than the fact that other people were watching. They are led heavily by numbers without any original thought of their own. When one fad dies, they hop to another.
Presently you are in a culture of likes and clout. Wrestling in this era will only get “popular” if various social media influencers and personalities get involved. Name brand is all that matters.
