>>7037209I always hated Punk but I now get it after seeing that promo. At WWE, Punk came off like a parody character of Indie shitters & Internet smarks, and this point is made much more clear when a real draw like The Rock shows up and straight up calls him delusional as he appeals to casual fans back when they existed.
I already stopped watching wrestling during JBL's reign but I think I would've been a fan of Punk, because I would've mistook him for a character like Milk boy Kurt Angle. In that Rock promo, Punk is very well spoken to the point that he sounds like he's acting. Sure I eventually ignored his whining, but the build up of that feud seemed interesting because I'd assume that he was just playing a role of a self important retard. His UFC & AEW run make it clear that Punk is not playing a character at all. This is who he actually is, and that's just not interesting at all because he really is delusional. It's interesting tv when you think he's just a Heel character similar to Angle's Olympian hero.
