Omega blackballed Sam Shaw from AEW, as collatoral damage for Omega's hate boner for Nick Adlis (who is BFFs in real life with Sam).
Early on, Omega wanted the NWA title Adlis had to kickstart the whole "belt collector" story. Adlis knew that Omega didn't give a fuck about the title and would hold it hostage indefinitely and forfeit it if pushed came to shove if he was forced to defend and drop the title to anyone. So he told Kenny to go fuck himself. Kenny never forgave Nick for this slight, as far as Nick telling him to fuck off and took out his anger on Sam Shaw, giving the order that Sam was never to be signed by AEW.
It's why Sam didn't even try to sign with AEW when he got let go early this year. So long as the Bucks and Omega have power, Sam won't get hired by AEW.
