(True story; in Impact, after the initial Hemme storyline, the plan was for Sam to grow a beard and go full "Single White Female" stalker with regards to Gunner. But he couldn't grow a full beard to save his life. In the end, while shaving his fail beard, he came up with the idea of having a handlebar mustache which he was barely able to pull off. But for long term maintenance reasons, he eventually settled in for a generic regular mustache ala his childhood idol Rick Rude.
