>>7103377Tony Khan never was in control of the company. The owner is and always has been Shadid Khan. Tony is the booker.
It's worth noting that Tony has had 7 jobs before AEW, with 6 of them being involved in business leadership. All 7 were funded directly by his father. All 6 leadership jobs ended either with him been quietly moved aside or the company falling into financial difficulties.
Tony is no different from you or me in terms of his ability to run a wrestling company. He's just a fan who happens to have money.
And he STILL has never turned a single dollar of profit from AEW.
People were so anti-Vince that they jumped on the first thing that came along and invested all of their personal hopes into it because it was a blank slate. Now the slate isn't blank and we're seeing the reality of a Tony Khan controlled company, just like every other non-wrestling business of his went, people are realising that what they hoped AEW would become and why they got involved is FAR away from the actual product. But they invested into it so heavily with their enthusiasm that they feel silly now walking away so will continue to watch this money mark with zero leadership skills slowly kill the potential that AEW had and they'll convince themselves that actually this is what they always wanted to see.
