The story of Colt was that it looked like he wasn't getting re-signed, but AEW talent went up to bat for him, so he got signed to ROH instead. This was amid other talent not getting re-signed, like Marko, Joey, and later on, a couple others like Stu and Alan.
No one really insinuated that Punk had anything to do with Colt almost not getting re-signed, though to be fair, given their very public history, I'm sure some people have connected the dots. But still, it's not like the dirtsheets were saying that at all.
At first I thought, maybe someone brought it up or he saw Colt or SOMETHING. But given how he held a grudge with Hangman for over 3 months, it wouldn't surprise me if the whole EVP leaked the Colt thing has been simmering for what, 4-6 months? And he just decided to chimp out for no real reason.
