When you're old and your wife is too old to care of you, your siblings are too old to take care of you, and your friends are too old to take care of you, what then?
Personal anecdote, I live in a really elderly part of town and there's lots of guys who never had children. Whenever there's trouble they're all alone and they have nobody. It goes beyond physical help that care services can provide them, they genuinely have nobody who cares for them unconditionally. Maybe they get the odd nephew or niece who shows up when it's convenient for the hous or whatever, but than that they're all alone.
May be convenient to be a bachelor now but I expect it can pretty lonely as you get older and you become more vulnerable to the point people don't want anything to do with you unless they love you unconditionally. There's going to be lots of guys and girls who won't have kids over the next 50 years. I just wonder what effect that's gonna have down the line.
