They didn't capitalize on this because VKM was autisticly rigid with his formula. Said formula has it's merits, and there have been many great Vince-style matches over the decades, but any one thing gets old when it's all that's allowed. Now that the far more neurological sound team of Khan/Steph/HHH are calling the shots, we can actually see some genuine variety in the program.
The fact is, a match like Sheamus/WALTER would never've happened on the main roster. Certainly not any time post-Attitude Era, even if they were booked together.
