Their TV match did disappointing numbers. Hangman/Archer the following week did better numbers and drew almost as many viewers as Punk/MJF even though it was a filler feud.

Because they don't actually build to them.
Because Tony is a Mark and he wants to "surprise" people by having the finish on Rampage and he can't recognize whats hot in the moment and what would make for a good 90 day program.

But its also the problem of letting the talent have so much control.

They don't get to book themselves, they just get a lot of control of what happens in their segments. Oh, and that's the other thing, TK spends too much time on prospects, Garcia especially. Stop giving him 5 week fucking programmes that amount to "Jericho and Danielson fight over him." He should be there as a prop to Jericho and given a chance to get himself a bit over, like Yuta is to the BCC.

I find it really weird that he prioritizes guys like Garcia and especially Wheeler Yuta over someone like Ricky Starks, or even a Darby Allin. Sting seems like more of a focus for Tony than Darby does at this points. Hobbs gets fuck all to do as well, even when he is supposed to be in a feud.

It's because Jericho really likes the kid I get it, but it's too fucking much. Yuta at least has a more exciting in ring moveset and has done S O M E T H I N G to make the audience give a shit. Say what you will but his moment with Mox got 5 million YouTube hits, if they switched Yuta and Garcia I could at least understand that "Yo this guy had a breakout moment push push push!"

It's more than that. Punk's match with MJF was the lowest Dynamite at the time, since the move to TBS. It broke the first million streak and afterwards, you'll notice that Phil rarely, if ever, wrestled in the second hour. He was either at in the opening, when numbers were their highest, or early on in the show. Here is another amusing fact, Dynamite never once broke a million when Phil was chasing for the belt or when he won the belt. Fucking, kek.
