They spent so much time having him “elevate” lesser known talents (by going over them of course) and as soon as he hits the main event scene the entire company implodes. Pretty based run overall.

Of all the matches he had in AEW, you put over the Hobbs and Garcia match?
I think his work took a noticeably different turn ever since he wrestled Dax in singles, especially since he said it had a big influence on him, but it kinda made him worse I think.

I was very surprised by those matches, for some reason they just felt more enjoyable than the rest, the Hobbs match itself is what made me think "hey maybe this wont turn out to be a shit thing" likewise the Garcia match that followed, and I dont even think Garcia is dimes while Hobbs has potential to be dimes but isn't exactly there yet.

His match with Darby was decent. The Eddie match was overrated as fuck and was like 3/10 at best. His first match with MJF was good, the PPV match was disappointing but still decent. The Hangman match was forgettable. The Mox PPV match was okay. Everything else wasn't remarkable. It felt like Punk was the lesser performer in most of his big matches, with maybe the exception being the Darby match because it felt like he was leading the whole thing. His lack of athleticism is very noticeable.

He had a handful of matches that were good but mostly did either pointless matches or squashes. Especially at the start when it seemed like he was gonna start a feud with team taz but then it went nowhere

What we got was great, but if this is the end, it's absolutely a disappointment. Two major injuries in less than a year, so many great angles and feuds left on the table, no match with Danielson, no match with Omega, and the potential feud of the decade with MJF left unfinished.

It's impossible to not be disappointed with this. And I know there are some who think Tony'll side with Punk over The Elite, but even if Tony prefers Punk over the other three, surely his prime concern right now'll be siding with whoever's least likely to cause a lockerroom mutiny, and from what's out so far, it sure looks like there's more Elitists than Punkers.
