>Around the time Rollins clinched his title, reports came in that the WWE Champ was no longer allowed to use his Curb Stomp, a finisher he’d been relying on for years. At the time, the community was up in arms about the ban; after all, it’s hardly the most violent move in in the WWE repertoire, and no one had raised a fuss prior to the ban.
>Rollins filled in the gaps during a recent podcast interview with Talk is Jericho. He explained why the move was banned in the first place: “It was right after I won the WWE Title and Wrestlemania, and I just think that it was the first time Vince thought about it, because they were sending footage to The Today Show, because I was there. Aside from it having a fairly violent name, the visual of it, he was watching it, and he just thought it could be easily imitated by young children."
>As much as I hate to admit it, Vince may have had a point. Curb stomping can be deadly, and unlike many of the moves that professional wrestlers use in the ring, it’s not very difficult to replicate. Given that children make up a substantial portion of WWE’s audience, they do have to be mindful of how kids may hurt themselves trying to imitate their favorite stars.
