At the start it looked promising. The indie scene was doing good and there was a big gaijin faction in Japan that was begging for an invasion angle in the US. TNA was finished and there was room for a second promotion.
The guy who made AEW looked like the guy to found it, he was a wrestling fan, appointed wrestlers to executive roles and had a TV deal with money. It 'should' have worked.
Things started to go to shit when they brought in the WWE guys and letting them go over their talent. This was the same mistake TNA made and it has reduced them to nothing more than another developmental territory.
