I'd go with AJ or Tyler Black. They both have name draw. Tyler could have great matches with half the roster. AJ could have unforgettable matches with half the roster, but is closer to retirement.
Either way you wouldn't get as big of numbers as Punk, but you'd be building up something sustainable instead sputtering. Either way Tony would fumble it, but either way they would behave professionally and be actual locker room leaders that wouldn't throw hissy fits in public.
