>>7286409>Interesting. For whatever reason, I only ever considered taking fin and min together and it's really min that comes with worse and more damaging side effects based on what I've read.Same. Don't get me wrong, I'll happily hop on min if/when the time comes where my hair has thinned quite a bit. But at the pace I'm going now I don't forsee that happening until my 40s at the earliest. And by that time I'll be less concerned about the greasy hair and face-aging effects of min. (Also, by that time min will hopefully be a common oral prescription.)
>Thanks anon, I'll go see a doctor and get a fin prescription (along with something for my severe dandruff issue too).Good for you anon, proud of you for taking charge of your health brother, I know what it's like to put that shit off. I did the same thing with Accutane - read the horror stories, so I suffered with severe acne an extra 5 years I didn't need to (I didn't know it existed until 5 years ago). Finally went on it last year. 8 months later, after having severe acne since age 11... I'm cured. Side effects? Dry lips and slight tiredness, which went away after my 8 month course.
Also, don't be afraid to go to another doc if yours turns you down! You're in charge of your own health. My family doc is in his early 60s, I went to him before I went to a derm. He's like "finasteride? isn't that for old men with enlarged prostates? just get a hair transplant when you need one, you're young"... literally basing his knowledge of the drug on when it was originally approved in 1992, despite fin being FDA approved and used by literally millions of men in the US alone for hair loss since it came out for that purpose in 1997. So I went to a derm, she did a quick once over of my hair, asked me a few questions, gave me some info, and I picked up my fin script at the pharmacy on the way home, easy peasy.
