Rob hasn't been drawing money with XPW though. The newark invasion has only sold like twelve seats, and he's charging fifty bucks for general admission. Their California show has similar pricing and it's only done marginally better in their home territory. Rob Black is lucky his other money to fall back on.

The bigger indies, usually those with cult followings sell out fast even when the shows are advertised months before hand. For example when GCW advertises a show usually the tickets that guarantee up close seating will be gone fast. That just leaves standing room tickets. The general admission tickets usually only get bought like a month out from the show.

The problem with XPW though is they don't get that much social media engagement unless it hyper online woke deathmatch fans shtting on them or troll accounts who pick fights with anyone who is anti XPW or pro ICW/GCW on twitter. I don't think Rob knows what he's doing when it comes to promoting shows in the modern era. He has enough money to secure venues, book talented people and put on interesting matches but that's about it. I think Rob going with the openly anti woke angle with the XPW comeback was a really stupid move, even though I agree with his sentiments for doing so. I looked at the talent Rob announced for Newark show and it's mainly early to mid 2000's era CZW guys.

Rob Black has other business I think it's a burger joint, and an adult novelty store. Could be that XPW on fite is doing well. I think Rob Black will run XPW regardless though even if it turns out to be a giant money pit for him. I think a lot of this could have been avoided if he didn't try to keep Shlak exclusive to XPW in LA though and if Rob and Danny tried to work together. Rob has the funs, and Danny has the mind for the business along with a great eye for talent.

Look i’m just explaining that you can do that shit subtly, like what Danny did with ICW:NHB, since they booked guys like Orin Veidt and Bruce Santee. Rob Black essentially backed off from that point for the most part in XPW’s advertising. I listen to the podcast he posted talkingn about how Drake would be a natural heel in this day in age. Drake’s a natural babyface, especially with a crowd at XPW that would primarily agree with Drake. I think Rob Black has money but I don’t think he knows what the fuck he’s doing in the long run. I think what’s going to happen is just going to be a repeat of what happened with XPW in the early ought’s indie scene. He’s just going to make a shit ton of enemies by atepping on people’s toes and then he’ll turn a majority of the scene against him by being a dickhead which will in turn, hurt XPW.

Promotion-exclusive contracts are common in wrestling, but Shlak, Masada and Necro have all worked for other promotions lately so obviously Rob isnt doing that. Further, neither ICW nor GCW has a monopoly on doing shows in Jersey. What if XPW tried to forbid other promotions from operating in socal? THAT would be stepping on toes. It seems to me that some other deathmatch feds are scared of XPW and are trying hard to bring them down.

Yeah I drove up to the heart ballroom for NHB Vol 32 and it was a long ass drive for me. ICW's show on Nov. 12 is like an hour and a half less so that makes it more worth it, especially with Kasey vs Mickie on the card.

When XPW started back up Danny voiced his support for the shows on his twitter and was live tweeting them. Apparently Rob Black had some heat with Danny about some shit in a facebook group. It just escalated from there with the upcoming California show because Homeless Jimmy didn't get involved with nu XPW and instead took a booking at NHB's LA show. Then Rob Black put out a podcast shitting on Danny and announcing he was booking the heart ballroom for shows to be petty. At the NHB show in Newark Danny shot on Rob Black for a bit on the mic and then he announced Messiah for a guest appearance which really pissed Rob off. I'm not on facebook so I can just tell you what i've seen circulating on various twitters and from Rob Black's podcast

I agree with wanting them to work together. I honestly see XPW crashing and burning though, especially if Rob Black is going the whole try to take over the indies though. At least the first time around he was able to get ECW guys fresh off of ECW closing down and with homegrown talent. nah i think XPW is doing good so far. Theyve made a pretty big splash despite doing only like 5 shows in the last year. Rob has managed to get a lot of the best indy wrestlers on his shows, and most people say he pays well so thats probably why. He does need to make some homegrown talents though, XPW has done that in the past but the new incarnation hasnt really created any new stars as yet. Also we should bear in mind that XPW and ICW are always going to employ some of the same people, as the deathmatch scene is only so big.

So we've always done a mix of semi-regular matches and full-on deathmatches. You dont want to turn the violence up to 100 every single time or it gets boring and repetitive. But XPW will always be a hardcore company first and foremost. Also, we've done storylines on our TV show for the past year, although the budget was very limited. Well, ill put it this way. I refused to be involved with it for good reason. I could tell right away what these assholes wanted, it was another bullshit tabloid smear campaign and i already dealt with enough of those. To be honest though, it backfired in my favor. That episode introduced a lot of people to XPW for the first time and it helped me to revive the company.

well, i actually tried to do that in the beginning, but he decided to try and "big league" me. Then he got really mad and started talking all this nasty stuff at me because somebody badmouthed him on an XPW fan page that i dont even control. However, i went to the guy who does run that site and asked him to remove that particular post. I wouldnt normally do that, but i was really trying to make peace with this guy. Danny didnt care at all, it didnt change his attitude one bit. Im willing to squash it but he's gonna have to apologize for that because i already tried my best to work it out. Shlak can still work for ICW! Just not in Socal. Thats the deal we made, i dont want ICW or anyone else undermining us in our home territory. I have the same deals with Masada and Necro. I pay them way more than the other guys because its worth it to have them as exclusive XPW guys.
