Smarks have always been contrarian when it comes to HBK for some reason. There's probably dozens of wrestlers on the indie circuit who can do more flips, more moves etc but Shawn had one of the best instincts for wrestling in the business, not many more guys can emotionally pull you into a match and make you care about it.

You're not even scratching the surface, bro. The major pre-war stars like Londos, Lewis, Longson etc. would rank far ahead of Shawn. As would the major national stars of the NWA era - Thesz, Gagne, Dory Jr etc. Then there's international stars like El Santo and Inoki etc. I doubt a credible historian would put Michaels in the top 100.
