it's all cyclical. sometimes CMLL spergs out and lose like 6 guys at a time over indie dates or something and they all go to AAA and vice versa. half the fun of lucha shows is seeing who shows up.

CMLL has money the just don't like to pay people to kind of artificially keep guys from becoming too big and the contracts are much more controlling over what other shows they can work and with whom

Meh. A bunch of those AAA guys are not on every show, because they work indies and US dates more frequently. Plus the AEW relationship they have is proving to be a negative with how they push outsiders over in-house talent.
