The show basically falls off a cliff after that match.

I find WM21 as basically a reverse WM20, instead of the midcard being mostly garbage (sans Christian/Jericho) and the main events being fantastic, WrestleMania 21 had a fantastic midcard but absolutely trash main events.

They were both booked pretty horrible the year leading up to the match. Shawn for the longest time couldn't get wins vs main event guys and Angle was relegated to stupid comedy bullshit after losing the title in 2003.

They weren't draws and there wasn't a compelling story or any important consequences. It was literally just MUH DREAM MATCH for smarks. And it wasn't that good, because both are overrated spot monkey shitters. Especially Angle with his ankle lock-reversal spam shit.

The two title matches were bigger matches. It did 1m+ buys. A few years later, when Michaels headlined with his career on the line, they did like 800k.
