This is one of the many situations I’m a fence sitter on (because I’m not indoctrinated by the internets “BURN THE FENCE DOWN!!!!” bs). On one hand Shane was power tripping hard. On the other hand he’s based and he was over. Just a overall mixed bag. Just like life. But of course the obese internet smarks will only look at the bad like they always do, say they’ll change the channel, and then don’t (while the casual fans are the ones who do just that). Chronically online “people” are cancer.

I don't get the "he's power tripping" argument. Almost every wrestler these days is an egomaniac selfmark who would do the same thing given booking power. HHH went over Brock Lesnar and had two, indulgent matches with the Undertaker at wrestlemania. To this day he books to get himself over as a booker rather than a wrestler, which is arguably more harmful because one guy being in big matches isn't going to do as much damage as tailoring the entire show to boost your ego. What's the real story behind this? Did people dislike him backstage? Did smarks dislike him for another reason? Are people just really fucking stupid?
