Would have been smarter if he didn't announce it in advance and just had a match go into overrun.
They constantly say they do the overrun if the match goes on for too long. Doing something like that would help fans go "Oh, shit, it could happen at any point" and make things more unpredictable.
Not a big deal either ways, but a small missed opportunity.
