The AEW advances, really with the exception of this show and Toronto, which was
going to be huge for the first show, have been disappointing. Every show
upcoming is way down from the same pace of sales the last time in the market,
enough to be a significant story. Boston, which has always sold out and thus
you’d think the early demand would be high, went from 4,000 tickets first day to
1,842 (2,149 currently). Bridgeport from 3,000 to 1,158. The next Baltimore
first day was 1,211. There are excuses that can be made such as too many shows
in the Northeast, but WWE business for Raw and Smackdowns is way up while AEW
for Dynamite is down right now as the story in this issue shows. And the gap is
growing for normal shows.

For the key shows, the 10/18 Dynamite in Cincinnati, moved to the A building,
the Heritage Bank Arena, and with Jon Moxley being from Cincinnati and defending
his newly-won title, is at 2,889 at press time. The return to Chicago on 11/23
for the night before Thanksgiving was at 3,029 for the presale in a building
they sold out with 7,000 almost immediately last year for the night before
Thanksgiving show. Chicago has been the company’s strongest market since
basically the start of the company, but would also be the market that the C.M.
Punk being injured the questionable status would hurt the most in.

For Full Gear on 11/19 in Newark, NJ, they did the same thing they did in
Chicago with a lot of combo tickets as well as tickets held back for the public
on sale on 9/23. The presale sold out basically all the tickets they put on sale
for the show alone in 14 minutes. But that was only 6,918 tickets. There were
1,370 combo tickets for Friday & Saturday still unsold. There would also be
another 4,200 seats that weren’t put up for sale until the public on sale the
next day.
