I think the crowd went into business for themselves because every fucking Cody feud is the same. The Codyverse was well and real at the time.
He's only fondly liked in WWE so far because he hasn't been overexposed. Him getting injured when he was still hot only helped him.

I like the early Codyverse stuff. Him versus MJF, run with the TNT belt, putting over Darby, fun stuff. From Ogogo onward it was just all fucking fumes and tiresome. The QT Marshall match in particular was dire.

His last big promo was against CM Punk for being a poser because Cody did everything Punk said he'd do after leaving WWE but didn't. Cody was being edged out ever since TK stop letting the Elite take credit for AEW and Cody left the Elite.
