i also think he could've been a much, much bigger star than he ever was not just in AEW but on the indie scene. he's got the look and talent to rival guys like AJ but for whatever reason - personal issues, complacency, whatever - he just never grabbed the brass ring or bothered to politick himself into a top spot.
he should've beat Austin Aries to an inch of his life in the locker room after the shit that went down at Bound for Glory but he didn't even do that. guy just doesn't have that killer instinct or sense of entitlement that real top guys have.
