If anything, this is a great commentary of how sanitized and corporate all forms of entertainment have become. No one takes risks anymore simply because the cost of igniting a firestorm in the current zeitgeist isn't worth the gain. Within hours of the first Ali heel action, he'd be the number one trend on twitter with weirdos bombarding advertisers and USA Network demanding they drop the show. Mustafa Ali, the man, would become persona non grata in the hugbox and would likely never be allowed back in, with every time he tries to do anything after wrestling, the old promos resurfacing and people being outraged at his existence.
In short, Russo's idea is great, but our modern world is designed as a safe space for emotional children who wouldn't be able to handle it the way they would've been able to in the past.
