>>7540741My dad grew up in Houston and used to go to the Paul Boesch shows with his brother (my uncle). Boesch ran the Houston area and was essentially neutral so had deals with other territories including World Class, Mid-South, and even WWF at points so Andre did visit too. Anyway, my dad told me a story about one time that they got involved in a match. They were near ringside during a match. It was Wahoo McDaniel against a heel that they can't remember. The fight spilled to the outside and the heel was hitting Wahoo when he was down, over near the railing. My uncle, who's the younger brother, got upset, grabbed his chair, and hit the heel in the back with it. The heel sold it and it gave Wahoo time to recover. Wahoo even looked directly at him and said "thanks kid." They were both kids at the time so I assume that's why they didn't get arrested or kicked out for it. I also have no idea how much the story may have been embellished over the years. I still occasionally find an old video of a Paul Boesch event and check it to see if I can see this spot. But it probably wasn't for a televised event anyway. Given the timeframe, I sort of hoped it was Greg Valentine that was involved, but I doubt they wouldn't remember hitting him. It was probably some job guy.
