Only hardcore marks would be obsessed with anyone else getting "worked" or not.
Be it a gimmick or not, Bray coming out and just being a guy is a knife to the heart of years of character work because the ask isn't for people's suspension of disbelief, it's for people's suspension of disbelief after the existing suspension was purposely gutted before our eyes in an apparent stab at a new status quo. It's extremely bad storytelling, especially when the timing was both so very bad and botched that the best case is people are severely confused about why Bray is zero dimes and being a weepy, voice-cracking faggot and at worst, having the apparent single indicator that he's working a gimmick being cut off so all of those people havw zero clue or indication that this awful shit will actually lead somewhere.
It's not good. It is exceedingly bad.
