They can't until Tony recognizes that he's not experienced enough to be the booker and hires competent people to book AEW, and also stops appearing in media scrums or on AEW TV and trying to make it all about him. This will never happen though, so AEW will be stuck in limbo, oscillating ever so slightly between milly and no milly until Tony finally gets bored and the whole company shutters.

I mean they are. They've been around for three years and already have a good audience and did five $1,000,000+ live gates this summer (which isn't just a regular occurrence for either company).

They've made astonishing progress as a young challenger brand and consider that WWE is about 60 years old its very unlikely to remain on top much longer. Statistically speaking, that almost never happens.

In 5-10 years they will be the no. 1 to WWEs no. 2 unless Tony loses interest, passes away or has some major unforeseen fuck up.

In my opinion, people would not watch WWE if it had AEW levels of production. People would see more clearly how bad and inconsistent it is. Without the saving grace of having the superior matches and promos (which AEW claims easily).

Once AEW has the glossy, WWE level production with the cool screens and smoke and mirrors. It'll be a wrap.

To summarize: AEW has Hook.

When Roman or Gunther are making their entrance on live PPV WWE undeniably looks like the biggest wrestling company ever. I prefer a grittier style. But lots of people can't look away from the sheer epilepsy of a WWE show
