>>7607449I'm going to be fair to them, they had a lot of digital/ppv issues for this show. And, going in nobody had a clue what was going to main event. While Angle vs Brock got a decent push, Hogan vs Vince was unquestionably the biggest match. Vince is a TV draw but surprisingly underperforms for PPV. At the peak of the AE, Austin vs Vince in a cage lost to Flair vs Hogan XVIIII in the same month and that's 99 WCW.
Another thing is like many said, 2001-2002 was the start of the downtrend, but as a kid at the time I can also say that this is where it became uncool to watch. I was in 5th grade and people simply didn't give a shit about wrestling by that point. PS2's dropped in price and shit man, we had other things on our minds, more distractions and things were becoming a shell of itself.
Granted, I didn't think it could get any worse, but at least Ruthless Aggression tried to push different guys. Today, it's just the same shit.
