Literally no one says that. Even in 2001-2002 everyone unanimously agreed Shawn was the goat(even meltzer) and that’s even with the limited time he was on top before his injury made him retire in ‘98. He drew better as champion and had better main event runs than Bret. Taking all

Just compare their Diesel matches. Bret goes in at a disadvantage as it's face vs face but still give Nash his best match ever. But when he faced HBK, his friend who presumably would want to make him look good, it's boring, slow, and Shawn fucks up the finish.

Shawn's a GOAT no doubt, but Shawn is also the type of guy who leaves you thinking with "what-if" questions, because although he faced a lot of good talent that he was most familiar with, he never faced everybody.

Whereas with Bret, I don't really entertain a doubt that he could get in the ring with everybody from his era to this day and leave a fan at least satisfied every single time. He's just that much of a chameleon.

I'm 46 and started watching wrasslin' in 82 when I was 6 years old. I never liked Hogan. I was way more into Piper, Greg Valentine, and later Jake Roberts and Savage. Piper was always my fav though. Felt more real, more of a man. Hogan just felt like a poster on a wall, a fake guy pretending to be some christian hero that put forth a false aura of morality. Never cheered him. Especially hated how they made my guy Slaughter into a villian for Hogan to slay. I'll never forgive that.

As for Bret, he was good. No real mic skills imo. A friend of mine in high school was a huge fan of his but I couldn't get into him for some reason. I think it was the lame mic skills and no real gimmick other than "quiet and brooding"

The real overall GOAT is Piper. Or Savage. Pretty much a toss up between them.
