If WWF has access to the guys who were paid by Turner you would wait till about Summerslam or so to bring Goldberg in just to make sure the stench of his last 18 months in WCW was off him. After that point they can print money on an Austin/Goldberg match

Goldberg wasn't over, the streak was over, and even then towards the end of the streak they were needing to pipe in the Goldberg chants because fans had gotten sick of him. Super Cena is part of a long pattern of bookers ramming something down fans' throats and fans rejecting it. Even Austin was getting some criticism for being a super man before he got run over.

Fans hadn't gotten sick of the streak. That's blatant revisionism. They were pissed about the win inflation, but if they really had grown sick of it, breaking the streak at Starrcade '98 wouldn't have been such a disaster for company business.
