Well, typically the main reason critics don't like a film that audiences do is it's really generic and the critics, because it's a job, watch like 10 films just like it but audiences only the one.

Not really. It's because critics sniff their own farts. They want a "sophisticated" film even if it's boring and they don't enjoy it. And now they need political bullshit in the film or they won't rate it highly. The Dwayne is shoot gay but he's still in the closet, and won't play a gay guy in his movies, so critics continue to bash him for it.

Maybe years ago "sophisticated" was a factor but not now. The marvel movies are the definition or sloppy and unsophisticated, they look like billion dollar tv shows, yet get great reviews. Modern critics really don't know much about cinema history or aesthetics and just tick boxs, woke politics is the mmost important box.
