The gimmick is he was in a mental hospital getting treatment for his brain problems. The masked figure is his alter ego he invented as a child to cope with his life as a white trash peon. he copies all his ideas from games, comics, movies and tv. and old wrestling gimmicks like waylon mercy. his fiend mask was at least partially inspired by the joker in dc's new 52. i know, nobody reads comics anymore but it doesn't matter. bray can't come up with a good original idea on his own. the only time he gets over is by wearing a mask because his face sucks and can't draw a dime. he's basically an actor playing a wrestler. he has about 1000 promos for one match. other than the daniel bryan carryjob at that royal rumble, he never had a good match

If he can end an arc in a place where it's understood he's a lunatic he can have feuds with people just fine after the story he wants to tell is over and lead into new ones.
