I'm just joining in on whatever the discussion turned into with you and the other guy. I think I made good points as to Cody's importance in the matter which you kind of dismissed because around half of them were before AEW actually really started, but you were expecting a console war or something from other people so I understand. I think AEW becoming a thing is in large part to Cody, if he wasn't there Tony might have still started a wrestling company, but I don't think it would be AEW. Without Jericho he might have been more hesitant or waited longer, but I think with Elite, Moxley, and eventual other names he would have probably started it, but yeah, Jericho definitely helped with a lot of momentum, especially at the start and the initial press conference, etc... and being champ, he was a more established choice than their second best option, which would have been Mox.
The whole AEW thing definitely adds to Jericho's long list of accomplishments, but really, since he lost the title I would say he has been a little more hit or miss and if he had stopped there or kept the same level of quality and same image it would be even better, but ah well.
