>>7688576Does anyone else remember the delusions of the TNA fanbase back when they hired Bischoff and the Spike TV deal was announced in late 2009? TNA fans swore up and down that TNA would challenge WWE's supremacy just like Bischoff had managed with Nitro. This continued for a few years while they were on Spike, despite tucking their tails and running off Monday nights after a few short months, and throwing everything at the wall like Hogan, Flair, Jeff, RVD, and Mr. Anderson. When TNA lost the Spike deal in 2014, their fans were in full on cope mode, swearing up and down that Destination America was a growing channel and had international deals. We all know the story from there, and the TNA death spiral continued and eventually they became a total joke by putting their world title on a woman.
Tony has a lot more money than Dixie to piss away, but I see the same old traps AEW is falling into. AEW has no identity other than not-WWE. Their style is just an offshoot of the one cultivated by Vince, albeit an older version before it went too kiddy friendly. This should all sound familiar because it's the same thing TNA did. And of course AEW has brought in tons of WWE rejects and even retired and semi-retired talent, just like TNA.
History is repeating itself and most folks are just too blind to notice.
