One of the companies he would go to is Smoky Mountain Wrestling and that's how he's around 40 but has been friends with Cornette for over 20 years. If you go to enough shows, Cornette will warm up to you because he will recognize you as someone he could use in the future because you obviously have the resources to keep getting in. Then after his last cohost left in a huff after Jim laid out his reasonable and rational take on why all Muslims should be killed, he found a mark of his with an expensive microphone already and got him to make the show for him like she would.
What I will give to Brian is he has a good podcast voice and he is consistent with his opinions unlike Jim. He does mostly agree with him but will also disagree with him but not so much that it expresses thoughts and opinions that aren't on brand for the shows (like when he will like an AEW tag match more than Jim but still express that the match is only good if you pretend tag matches don't have rules.)
