Hey guys, it's the wrestling student anon.
We were a big part of a local show yesterday, nice venue with funny Halloween production value everywhere. Scantily clad goth women opening up a coffin for the wrestlers to enter through, spiderwebs along the guard rails, a clown elvis impersonator hosting the show, it was fun.
I felt like I got something particularly valuable out of the experience. Being an adult with solid credit and a modern vehicle made me a prime student for shuttling our bigger name performers between airports, hotels, and the venue. I was given some good advice and just made fun, casual small talk with dudes who've wrestled all over the world. When I dropped off a NJPW tag team at the airport they even said I have their contact info if I ever need more advice but that the school I'm in is rich with experience and associated with uncommonly charitable bookers. Hell, last night the show's booker told me I was so reliable that he expects me to do it again some time and that he'll pay me double.
The last couple months of training have just been a really rad experience. It feels more and more like I'm really building towards something. My girlfriend and I will be in Japan in November, booked it before I ever decided to wrestle just because I wanna travel more and obviously I'm a neckbeard on the inside just like you fellas. Head coach told me today to let him know of any shows I wanna check out and that he has contacts if I wish to continue my training. Definitely psyched to train in Japan, even if it's briefly. Think I'll check out a Dragon Gate show too. For the few of you who might enjoy these posts, thanks for listening. :)
