Of the two, Cornette is right but he's also a extreme traditionalist to a fault. Russo's stuff was way more a product of the time than anything else. It failed to bring in money anywhere else.
WCW in 1999 was still salvagable. They still had decent attendance and sales until Russo killed all of that because he wanted a .2 to be a .3. TV was nothing like today, where they're willing to pay that much. Shit, USA let WWE go in 2000 because they didn't want to pay them shit and they were getting 6.0's.
TNA is a whole other problem, some out of his control, because Dixie was dumber than him, but same idea. Company finally sells 60k and makes merch sales, Russo starts chimping out and Dutch is pushed to Knockouts, Joe goes back to looking like an idiot. MEM goes on forever.
