I'd still be surprised to see Hunter bring in CM Punk, and not because of personal issues. Hunter's never wrestling again. His only concern as of now is what the boys and girls on top actually do for the company. But much as there's temptation to land a decapitory blow at the competition by snatching up their biggest star, Punk is still the guy who in a year went from the most lauded return in pro-wrestling history to such a lockerroom pariah that not one person in the back is willing to defend him over The Elite. Some of these people have known him for years, even decades, and worked successful programs with him. He's the biggest draw in AEW history up to now, and Tony very clearly wanted to side with Punk over The Elite if there was anything resembling a case for his defense. Hell, Kenny as far as we know still isn't on speaking terms with Tony, and very well might leave the company, too. Yet Punk's reputation is still so bad that Tony's buying him out just to keep from having a lockerroom mutiny.
If I were Triple H and had the option, I'd bring Kenny in before bringing Punk.
