>>7723773The Elite set a trap and executed it perfectly. The trap wasn't having hangman insinuate anything about Colt Cabana. It wasn't about tricking him into throwing a punch in front of the company lawyer. It was just about doing what they always do - wrestling at a superior level. A level Punk couldn't match. You could see it after Omega vs Danielson at the first grand slam. When Punk came out, you could tell he knew, deep down, that he couldn't have a match as good as that. But in his desperate cope, he kayfabed himself. Acted like he was on the Elite's level. The Elite knew better. Knew he'd embarrass himself trying. And that his body wouldn't hold up. The former happened at Double or Nothing with Punk vs Hangman. Punk fell on his ass, twice, just trying to do Hangman's normal finisher. Then All Out brought the latter. When Omega yelled "guys in the back, beat that" after his match, it was really directed at one guy. At Punk. Punk was already thermonuclear with the Elite, so when he heard that he was seething enough to take the pay-per-view name literally. He went "All Out". And he paid the price. Another injury, and confirmation that he should never hold the championship again. The greatest irony, or course, is that the likes of Punk often sulk that the elite "do too much". Yet it was the elite who worked him into doing too much. Exposing himself then breaking his fragile old-man body.
