I looked it up and apparently the match was actually against Rusev, which is somehow even worse. They said they were replacing Rusev with Jericho, for some reason, and then ended up doing Rusev vs. Carder anyways. I genuinely do not remember any of this, and I wish I never saw this.

Vince pulled Jericho from the match as punishment for doing more NJPW stuff

He was working both NJPW and Saudi stuff, Vince told him he was cool with it and then changed his mind

Rusev was the original announced match. Then they changed it to Jericho because they didn't think Rusev would be a draw. Then fans complained and they gave it back to Rusev.

to be fair, the handicap is only brought up because stone cold vs hogan happened. razor v stone cold is overshadowed due to hogan vs the rock, which makes sense of course.
