Besides which, they never really fully turned face before the debacle, anyway. Kenny even cut a promo when he came back pretty much saying that they were committed to being tweeners. They would have been the face side of Elite vs. UE, if Cole and KOR hadn't both suffered the long-term injuries which ultimately forced the angle to be scrapped. But that was already off the table by All Out, as Fish's contract had expired and he publicly burned the bridge on his way out. Thanks to Punk, we'll now probably never know what the plans were for The Elite as trios champs.
At any rate, if they are going to finally move ahead with Young Bucks vs FTR (which they probably need to do), the Bucks are going to be the heels in that feud. FTR are too over right now to play the heel side, and it's more natural to play it as a worked shoot with the Bucks taking the heat for the backstage drama.
My only reservation would be that it might make sense to keep Kenny as a face, and let just the Bucks be heels. Maybe even put Kenny and Hangman back together as a tag team for a bit, since there's really no place for either in the main event picture for the foreseeable future, IMO. Based on last night's video, though, it doesn't look like they'll split Kenny and the Bucks up.
